Summary

The C-Tec BF320 is a 24V BS 5446-3 compliant vibrating pillow pad designed to alert the hearing impaired of potential fire alarms or evacuation alerts. It is used in conjunction with a BF320JP connection plate and is intended to be placed under a pillow, providing a tactile alert to supplement audible and visual indications from a system’s sounders and visual alarm devices (VADs).

This pillow pad vibrates and pulses on and off when triggered, adhering to the requirements of BS 5446-3 (2015). It features a wide voltage range of 10-30V DC, allowing compatibility with many third-party connector plates, subject to testing. The BF320 includes a 2-metre connection lead with a locking mini-XLR connector to prevent accidental disconnection and comes with a 6K8 end-of-line monitoring resistor for fire alarm system use.
