Summary

The Unicorn Voice Distributed Amplifier Panel (ViUV-DAP) is a unique distributed wall-mounted, panel-based voice alarm and fire telephone solution that is compliant to EN54-16. This system simplifies the specification and installation of voice alarm and fire telephone systems by offering a comprehensive one cabinet solution for distributed applications.

The Distributed Amplifier Panel is suitable for a wide range of applications, from small stand-alone buildings through to multi-storey and campus-style developments. The system is fully compatible with any fire alarm system, making it an ideal choice for both new installations and retrofit projects.

For smaller applications, the DAP can be utilised as a standalone V1 voice alarm system by adding a message module, and can be upgraded to a V2 system with the addition of a microphone for live announcements. For larger sites, when used with a master amplifier or desk microphone, the DAP allows for very large site coverage with each panel providing up to 4 amplifiers.

FAQ

Can the DAP be used as a standalone voice alarm system?

Yes, the DAP can be utilised as a standalone V1 voice alarm system suitable for smaller applications like shop units by adding a message module. It can also be upgraded to a V2 system with the addition of a microphone for live announcements.

What is the difference between the DAP and MAP systems?

The DAP (Distributed Amplifier Panel) features a 2.8″ touch screen and is designed for distributed applications, typically situated within riser cupboards or plant rooms. The DAP requires at least one Master Amplifier Panel (MAP/T) to provide EVC control functionality.

What networking options are available for the DAP?

Unicorn Voice can be networked using copper cable (up to 250m), single-mode fibre (up to 4km) or multi-mode fibre (up to 1.6km). This flexibility allows for copper within buildings and fibre for longer distances between buildings.

How many EVC lines does the DAP support?

The DAP-T variant provides 8 EVC lines per panel for fire telephone, disabled refuge and emergency assistance alarms. The total system capacity is 512 lines across the network.

What amplifier configurations are available?

The DAP can be configured with 25W, 50W or 100W Class D amplifier modules in dual or quad configurations, with a maximum of 400W per cabinet. A hot standby amplifier (100W) can also be specified.

Is the DAP suitable for large site applications?

Yes, when used with a master amplifier or desk microphone, the DAP allows for very large site coverage. Each panel can provide 4 amplifiers and is typically situated within a riser cupboard or plant room for distributed coverage.
