Non-fire devices are used to alert building users of non-fire events, such as calls for assistance or building lockdown. With SmartCell, you can connect up to 32 non-fire devices with the panel.
Information and Non-Fire Devices
Information and non-fire devices are used to trigger the system manually via a call point or an input from another system, triggering a sounder or using the panel’s optional communicator to send an SMS message or email about the event.
Whilst fire detection devices take priority, non-fire devices are secondary and are used strictly to communicate information, to keep staff and building users safe.
Examples of Non-Fire Events
Non-fire or informative events that devices can help with include:
- Door activity – opening and closing of doors
- Flood detection
- CO gas detection
- Evacuations or building lockdowns
- Alarm condition on your intruder alarm
- Loss of power to electrical appliances – such as fridges
- Monitor chiller and fridge temperatures
SmartCell Non-Fire Device Features
The SmartCell panel supports up to 32 non-fire devices, adding both value and safety.
As standard, devices that detect non-fire events feature blue LED, to differentiate between red fire devices.
When a non-fire device is activated, transmitter devices automatically generate alerts via emails and text, to communicate being set off.
Non-fire devices are low cost, ensuring they can be integrated easily into your existing system.

Protected in a white outer cover, the information manual call point provides a safe way for users to activate in a non-fire event, using 868 MHz communication to send information to the SmartCell control panel, delivering notifications to connected devices.
SmartCell Contact Transmitter and Input Device
The clever SmartCell transmitter and input device allows for non-fire events to be monitored wirelessly, by linking devices with compatible outputs to the SmartCell CIE SmartCell panel, communicating information alerts when activated. Examples of non-fire events that the transmitter detects include the opening and closing of doors, flood detection, an alarm alert on your intruder alarm, or loss of power to electrical appliances.
