Each unit is supplied with a multi-purpose label that includes sections for intrinsically safe system identification, with the flexibility to remove I.S. references for non-intrinsically safe applications.
When used with intrinsically safe systems, the enclosures support proper segregation requirements, maintaining the essential 50mm minimum separation between I.S. and non-I.S. circuits. It is critical that these enclosures are always installed within the safe area and never in hazardous zones when forming part of an I.S. circuit.

Both DIN-Rail Interface Enclosures have an IP67 rating, providing excellent protection against dust ingress and water immersion.
Can these enclosures be installed in hazardous areas?
No. If the enclosure is used as part of an intrinsically safe circuit, it must always be installed inside the safe area. These enclosures should never be installed in the hazardous area.
What is the difference between the two enclosure models?
The 29600-239 is the smaller enclosure (150 x 125 x 180mm) with 12 drillable cable entries, whilst the 29600-240 is larger (150 x 180 x 255mm) with 22 knock-out cable entries and greater capacity for DIN-rail interfaces.
What separation is required for intrinsically safe wiring?
When using these enclosures with intrinsically safe systems, a distance of at least 50mm must be maintained between live conducting parts of I.S. and other circuits to ensure proper segregation.
