<p>The RS007/G3/AB is a heavy duty wired magnetic contact designed to detect the opening of roller shutters as part of an intruder alarm system. It is suitable for installations up to and including EN50131 Grade 3.</p>

<h3>What does the RS007/G3/AB detect?</h3>
<p>The contact monitors the position of a roller shutter. It operates as a normally closed circuit and opens when the magnet housing is moved away from the contact housing, allowing the alarm system to detect unauthorised opening of the shutter.</p>

<h3>Does the RS007/G3/AB detect magnetic interference?</h3>
<p>Yes. The Grade 3 contact incorporates magnetic interference detection, allowing it to identify the presence of a rogue magnet being used in an attempt to interfere with the normal operation of the contact.</p>

<h3>What resistor configurations does the RS007/G3/AB support?</h3>
<p>The RS007/G3/AB is a multi-resistored Type A/B contact. Type A provides 1K switch and 1K tamper resistance, while Type B provides 4K7 switch and 2K2 tamper resistance.</p>

<h3>Is the RS007/G3/AB suitable for Grade 3 alarm systems?</h3>
<p>Yes. The contact is designed for installations up to and including Security Grade 3 and is compliant with EN50131-2-6.</p>

<h3>What are the operating distances of the contact?</h3>
<p>On non-ferrous mounting surfaces, the approximate Y-axis operating distance is 23mm minimum close and 26mm maximum open. On the Z-axis it is 28mm minimum close and 32mm maximum open. Mounting the contact on a ferrous surface can reduce these distances depending on the material and its thickness.</p>

<h3>How should the RS007/G3/AB be mounted?</h3>
<p>The magnet and contact housings should be positioned so they are correctly aligned without restricting the movement of the roller shutter. The units incorporate alignment aids to assist installation, and excessive sideways movement of the shutter should be corrected before fitting.</p>

<h3>Is the contact tamper resistant?</h3>
<p>Yes. The contact housing is potted and sealed to prevent access to its internal components and the Grade 3 version also provides magnetic interference detection.</p>

<p>The contact uses a robust aluminium housing with Rhodium and Ruthenium contact materials and is supplied with an armoured connection cable.</p>
