FAQ
Can the Twinflex Sounder be installed on the same zone as other devices?
Yes, the sounder can be mixed on the same zone as other types of Twinflex devices, such as Twinflex ASD detectors, providing flexible system design options.
What cable type is required for installation?
The installation requires 2-core 1.5mm² screened, fire resistant cable (such as FP200 equivalent), wired as a screened 2-core radial circuit with no spurs from the control panel.
How do I maintain the IP65 rating during installation?
To maintain IP65 protection, use IP65 rated glands with O-rings for cable entry, fit the supplied gasket when mounting the base, and use the supplied O-ring when attaching the sounder front to the base.
What sound patterns are available?
The sounder offers multiple patterns: disabled (no sound), alternate tone 800-970 Hz, continuous 970 Hz, and sweep up 800 to 970Hz over 1 second, all programmable via DIP switches.
Which device should have the End of Line signal enabled?
The last device on the circuit must have the EOL signal enabled by setting DIP switch number 1 to the ‘ON’ position.
Can the DIP switches be changed while the system is powered?
Yes, the sounder DIP switches can be altered whilst the device is still powered, or the system may be powered down completely for programming.
