What is the difference between low power and high power VAD models?

Low power VAD models like the SEN-M-VAD-LPR consume less current from the fire alarm loop, allowing more devices to be installed per loop whilst extending battery standby capacity during mains failure. High power VAD models draw more current but deliver increased light output for applications requiring enhanced visibility or larger coverage areas. The choice between low and high power depends on specific coverage requirements, loop loading calculations, and the number of devices required on each detection loop.

Does the SEN-M-VAD-LPR include an integral sounder?

No, the SEN-M-VAD-LPR is a VAD-only device that provides visual alarm indication through its red flash beacon. It does not include an integral sounder for audible alarm signals. For locations requiring both visual and audible notification, separate addressable sounders would need to be installed, or alternatively, combined sensor-sounder-VAD devices from the SenTRI range could be specified to reduce device count and installation complexity.
