What does the Texecom KIT-1005 include?

The kit includes 1 × Premier Elite 48 metal control panel, 1 × Premier LCDP proximity keypad, 1 × Premier Elite 32XP-W wireless expander, 2 × Capture Q20-W wireless quad PIR detectors, 2 × Capture D20-W wireless dual tech detectors, 2 × Impaq SC-W wireless shock sensors, and 5 × Premier Elite proximity keyfobs.

What is a hybrid alarm system?

A hybrid alarm system combines a traditional hardwired control panel with wireless detection devices. In the KIT-1005, the Premier Elite 48 panel is hardwired, while the 32XP-W expander allows Ricochet wireless devices to be added to the system. This gives installers the structural reliability of a wired panel with the flexibility of wireless detectors — useful where running cables is impractical or disruptive.

What is Ricochet mesh technology?

Ricochet is Texecom’s proprietary wireless mesh technology. Unlike standard point-to-point wireless systems, Ricochet enabled devices can receive and repeat signals from neighbouring devices on the network. This creates a self-forming mesh that extends the wireless range and improves resilience, as the signal can find alternative paths to the panel if one route is disrupted.

What is the difference between the Capture Q20-W and D20-W detectors?

The Capture Q20-W is a wireless quad PIR detector with 20 m / 90° volumetric coverage, suitable for most standard detection applications. The Capture D20-W is a wireless dual tech detector that combines quad PIR with K-band microwave technology, providing an additional layer of verification before triggering an alarm — making it better suited to environments where false alarms are a concern. The D20-W also includes CloakWise technology to detect masking attempts.

How many zones does this system support?

The Premier Elite 48 panel has 8 onboard wired zones, expandable up to 48 via wired zone expanders. The included 32XP-W wireless expander adds up to 32 wireless Ricochet zones on top of this, giving significant capacity for larger installations.

Can the system be monitored remotely via a smartphone?

Yes. When used with a Texecom SmartCom or SmartCom 4G communicator (sold separately), the Premier Elite 48 is compatible with Texecom Connect for smartphone control, Texecom Cloud for remote access, and Texecom Monitor for professional alarm monitoring.

What is CloakWise and which detectors feature it?

CloakWise is a Texecom proprietary detection algorithm built into the Capture D20-W dual tech detectors included in this kit. It uses advanced signal processing across both the PIR and microwave channels to recognise when an intruder attempts to mask or “cloak” their presence — triggering an alarm even if the detector is being deliberately obscured.
