Will this 5MP TVI camera work with my existing AHD or HD-CVI DVR?
The SRDT5VFB outputs natively in 5MP TVI (Transaction Video Interface) or 5MP AHD (Analogue High Definition), and can also be switched to 4MP or 2MP AHD/CVI (Composite Video Interface)/TVI modes, plus legacy CVBS (Composite Video Baseband Signal, 960H). Your DVR (Digital Video Recorder) must support the chosen format and resolution for the picture to display correctly, so check its supported inputs before ordering.
What’s the maximum cable run before I lose picture quality?
Huvo rates this camera for a maximum transmission distance of 300m using 5C 2V coax cable. Longer runs, thinner cable, or poor-quality connectors will reduce signal integrity and can introduce noise, particularly at the higher 5MP resolution, so keep within this figure for a reliable image.
Can I reuse existing RG59 coax when upgrading from an old CVBS system?
The datasheet specifies the 300m maximum run based on 5C 2V cable, not RG59, so results with RG59 may fall short of this distance, especially at 5MP.
