Team Spotlight – Peter Ellison

This month, we spoke to Peter Ellison, our Business Development Manager, on behind the scenes at Huvo (formerly Discount Fire Supplies), and his niche but very important tea carrying skills!

What’s your job role?

Business Development Manager

What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?

The best part is the team – I’m very lucky to work alongside such a lovely group of people.

What do you think is the most important skill that you bring to your team?

I’m told I make a nice cup of tea and coffee…and I can carry a tray of 11 full mugs up the stairs without spilling any.

If you could switch your job with anyone else within Huvo for 1 day, who would you swap with?

It would have to be Mario…so that I could hijack his playlist and remove some of his dodgy tunes!

If you had to describe the culture of Huvo in 3 words, what would they be?

Innovative, Passionate, Friendly.  We’re always looking for new ways to improve, and there’s a real drive in the team to deliver top quality service – all while having a laugh and being approachable.

If you could see any band/artists living or dead who would it be?

I would have loved to see The Beatles in their early days when they were still playing intimate gigs at the Cavern Club, Liverpool.  Also, Maria Callas at Teatro del Maggio Musicale, Florence.  Legendary artists creating magic in my two favourite cities – nothing better.

What is your favourite place to eat in Swansea?

Cwtchina Italiana in Mumbles.  A cosy, family-run gem with authentic Italian food.  We knew Kathy, the owner, many years ago when she ran the wonderful Café Angeletto on Dilwyn Street with her late husband Mimmo. The food in Cwtchina is incredible and the passion Kathy pours into Cwtchina’s dishes carries on Mimmo’s legacy.

What is on your bucket list?

Traveling the world visiting ancient megalithic sites, especially those in South America. The history and mystery behind those places fascinate me….and without a shadow of doubt, I’d be sampling serious quantities of the local Malbec while I was at it.
