What protocol options are available with the XFP range?
The XFP range offers two protocol variants: models ending in /H are compatible with Hochiki’s ESP protocol, whilst models ending in /X support Apollo’s XP95/Discovery protocol. This allows integration with existing detector systems from either manufacturer.
How many devices can be connected to each loop?
Each loop can support up to 126 addressable devices with a maximum loop length of 1km. The loop drivers can power up to 40 loop-powered 10mA sounders per loop whilst maintaining full functionality.
What are the differences between the 16-zone and 32-zone models?
The 16-zone models (XFP501E series) feature plastic enclosures, lower power consumption, and are designed for smaller installations. The 32-zone models feature metal enclosures and higher power capacity for larger applications. All models offer the same comprehensive feature set.
Can XFP panels be networked together?
Yes, up to 8 XFP main panels can be connected via a two-wire RS485 non-redundant network with a maximum network distance of 1km. Alternatively, up to 8 XFP repeaters can be connected to any non-networked main panel.
What battery backup is required?
The 32-zone models require 2 x 12V 7Ah VRLA batteries connected in series, whilst the 16-zone models use 2 x 12V 3.2Ah VRLA batteries. All models include automatic battery monitoring and charging.
Are the panels compatible with existing C-TEC accessories?
Yes, all XFP models are fully compatible with C-TEC’s Hush Button fire alarm solution and the complete range of EN54 certified addressable sounders and visual alarm devices (VADs).
