Will this TVI camera work with my existing AHD or HD-CVI DVR?
The SRBT8FW supports AHD, TVI and CVI protocols via ACP (AHD Coax Protocol) auto-negotiation, so it should connect to most analogue HD DVRs without reconfiguration. Note that 8MP output is limited to 15fps on AHD/TVI/CVI and 12.5fps on TVI/CVI specifically, so check your DVR’s supported formats and framerates at 8MP before installing.
What's the maximum coax cable run before I lose signal quality?
Serage rates the SRBT8FW for a maximum transmission distance of 300 metres using 5C-2V coaxial cable. Longer runs, thinner cable, or poor connectors will reduce this figure, so confirm actual performance on site once cabling is installed.
Can I reuse existing RG59 coaxial cabling with this camera?
The datasheet’s 300m distance rating is based on 5C-2V cable, not RG59, which has thinner conductors and higher signal loss over distance. RG59 may still work on shorter runs, but for longer installations it’s worth testing signal quality first or re-cabling with 5C-2V to guarantee the full 8MP image at range.
