Summary

The QT421 is a monitored RF integrity transmitter designed to work seamlessly with Quantec’s QT422RX Radio Receivers. This device plays a crucial role in maintaining the reliability of wireless fire and security installations by continuously monitoring RF coverage.

The transmitter sends periodic RF test transmissions to receivers configured with the same RF group address, helping ensure that RF integrity and site coverage are maintained at all times. If a transmission is not received by the controller, the system flags a fault, providing early warning of potential communication issues.

Typically installed at strategic points throughout an installation, we recommend deploying at least one RF Integrity Transmitter per Radio Receiver. The device mounts conveniently on a standard 25mm UK single gang back box and draws its power from the Quantec network. Unlike other Quantec devices, the QT421 is not an addressable device as it is monitored directly by the radio receiver(s) it is configured to work with.

FAQ

How does the QT421 help maintain system reliability?

The QT421 sends periodic RF test transmissions to configured radio receivers, ensuring continuous monitoring of RF coverage. If a transmission is not received, the Quantec Controller flags a fault, alerting you to potential communication issues before they affect system performance.

How many RF Integrity Transmitters do I need for my installation?

We recommend installing at least one RF Integrity Transmitter per Radio Receiver. For optimal coverage monitoring, position transmitters at strategic points throughout your installation to ensure comprehensive RF integrity testing.
